Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Shut Up (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Beast Mode (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Beast Mode has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Shut Up! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Beast Mode! The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, John Mangel and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mode misses with a few strikes there.
Mode looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Mode stuffs the takedown. Beast Mode seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Up changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Mode looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Up tries to move into full mount but can't pass Mode's legs. Up working the ground and pound from side control. Mode defending against the ground and pound. Check out the look on Up's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Up tries to score with some ground and pound. Mode controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Up lands some shots froms side control. Mode is working to avoid the ground and pound but Up connects with a decent elbow. Mode is not in a great position here, taking some shots. Up working the ground and pound. Up working the body and head with strikes. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Up tries to move to mount but Mode blocks the move with his legs. Up lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Mode is letting Up control him for a moment. Mode is not content to let Up control the position. Up lands a few punches from side control. Up scores with a couple of short elbows. Check out the look on Up's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Mode taking a bit of punishment here - Up scoring with strikes. Up cracks Mode with a big elbow. Up working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Up will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Mode manages to get back to half guard. Up throws a strike but Mode avoids it easily and moves to full guard. Up in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Up trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Mode is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Up trying to control but Mode is working from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mode managing to control the position. Up wants to control from the top but Mode keeps moving. Up throws a strike but Mode rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Up throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Up swats away the attempt to clinch by Mode. Up shoots in and bounces Mode off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Up trying to control but Mode is working from the bottom. Up throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Mode works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Mode is looking to stand up but Up isn't so interested in that idea. Up with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Up content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Shut Up dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Mode has his takedown stuffed and Up counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Mode avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Up works over Mode with some ground and pound from guard. Up lands a couple of digs. Up wants to control from the top but Mode keeps moving. Mode not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Up throwing strikes from guard but Mode blocks nicely. Shut Up overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Up throws a big right hand that misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Up cracks Mode with a solid left hand. Up has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Mode utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Up accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Mode with a lazy takedown attempt and Up counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Mode! Mode tries to hold on but Up postures up. Up looking to control but Mode is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Up cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

That's two minutes gone in the round. Up trying to control but he's not successful this time. Up connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Up putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Up landing strikes from the mount. Mode is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Mode taking shots to the head. Up is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Mode can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Up avoids the attempt from Mode to control. Up lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Up with shots to the head and body - Mode looks very uncomfortable down there. Up lands a nice shot to the head. Up looking to control but Mode is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Up with the ground and pound from mount. Up lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Up lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Mode is bucking up trying to escape but Up cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Up dominating with strikes here. Up scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Mode?
Up breaks from Mode's wrist control and lands an elbow. A nice elbow there by Up. Mode wants to hold on but Up pushes him away. Mode is trying to stand. Up cracks Mode with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Up is landing with some decent strikes but Mode is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Up lands with some strikes. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Shut Up dominated that second round. That's time! Up's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
Mode scores with a punch to the head. Mode looks to land a right hand but Up moved out of range. No luck with that takedown attempt from Up. Mode gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Up to score an easy takedown into full guard. Up trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Up trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Up wants to control from the top but Mode keeps moving. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Mode working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Up doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Up manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
That's one minute gone in the round. Up looking to sit in guard and control but Mode gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Up throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Up keeping moving, preventing Mode from controlling successfully. Up lands an upkick as Mode stands over him.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Mode misses with a series of wild punches.
Mode throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Mode fails with the takedown and Up decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Mode's guard. Up scoring with punches to the head and body. Up throwing strikes from guard but Mode blocks nicely. Up throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Mode keeping full guard, as Up tries to pass. Up working some strikes from top position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Up working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Up trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Mode is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Mode slaps away a takedown attempt from Up, before circling back to the center of the mat. Mode leaves Up with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Shut Up. That's going to take a lot out of him. Up scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Up working the head with strikes. Up sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Mode is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mode avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Up. Up looks up at the clock and then as Mode takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Up smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Mode regains half guard, as Up was trying to land strikes. Mode is in trouble now - Up has advanced to mount! Up is landing with some decent strikes but Mode is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Beast Mode has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Shut Up is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Up is in the full mount, landing strikes.
And that's the end of the fight! Shut Up showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Up, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
