Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Hugh Johnson and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thompson closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Samsa did well to prevent Thompson getting side control.
Thompson content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Samsa trying to control but Thompson postures up.
Thompson is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Samsa has a hand on Thompson's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Thompson takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!
Samsa wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.
Thompson looking for the choke but no joy.
Thompson is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.

I really don't envy Samsa right now.
Samsa trying to control but not successfully.
Thompson lands a punch to the side of the head from the back.
Samsa just trying to survive but Thompson is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Samsa could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Thompson controls the position.
Thompson is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Samsa defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Samsa tries to escape but Thompson has the hooks in and won't let him break free.

Samsa rolls, trying to escape but Thompson keeps control of the position.
Samsa is working hard here to advance position.
Samsa is breathing heavily.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Oooh a big shot gets through from Thompson. Many more shots like that and the referee will have to think about stepping in!
Thompson sinks in the hooks and is looking for the choke. He's got it! Samsa taps out!
