Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, June Brown! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mark Kraken! The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Patrick Alders and Albert Achterberg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kraken throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Kraken tries to score a power double leg takedown but Brown sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Kraken somewhat. Brown closes the distance and clinches. Brown fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Brown manages to pull guard.
Kraken controls from within his opponent's guard. Brown keeping full guard, as Kraken tries to pass. Brown is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Brown is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Brown has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kraken wanted to stand there but Brown had control of the position. Brown isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Kraken stacks Brown on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Kraken! Kraken wants to stand but Brown has his arm trapped. Brown is pushing Kraken's head away, looking to escape. Kraken manages to hold on to the position though. Brown is trying to escape the position but Kraken is controlling the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Brown gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Brown is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Kraken wants to lay and pray for a moment but Brown keeps working. Brown tries to get to full guard but Kraken has control of the leg. Brown makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! Kraken scores with a jab to the body. Brown showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Kraken.
Brown fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Brown is breathing heavily. No luck with that takedown attempt from Brown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for June Brown. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Brown walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Kraken ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Kraken moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
It looks like June Brown has been cut. Kraken bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Brown's head.
Brown is rocked! Kraken lands a hook that stumbles Brown back into the cage. Kraken follows up with a straight and another hook that land right on the button, dropping Brown to the canvas! Kraken pounces and lands several unanswered shots - Brown has had enough and taps out! This one is all over!
