Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Hirohidi Takanaka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Biff Boneham (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Takanaka comes to the ring accompanied by Bleach - Dead Blood. Boneham has chosen Push It To The Limit as his entrance music. Hirohidi Takanaka has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Hirohidi Takanaka! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Biff Boneham! The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Mauricio Rocha and Thiago Cunha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Boneham throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Boneham defending well as Takanaka loads up on a big left hand. Boneham scores a takedown into full mount! Takanaka is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Takanaka in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Takanaka working to try and regain half guard.
Takanaka tries to hold on but Boneham postures up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Takanaka slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Takanaka keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Takanaka wants to get back to full guard. Takanaka gets full guard. Boneham working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Boneham thows a big elbow that misses. Boneham postures up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Takanaka escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Boneham gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Boneham has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Takanaka misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Boneham shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Takanaka pinned against the cage. Takanaka gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Takanaka fails with an attempt to clinch.
Boneham thows a body shot but no joy. Takanaka is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Boneham.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Takanaka looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Boneham closes the distance and lands a one-two. Boneham misses the shot to the body. A jab lands there for Takanaka. A looping hook to the body misses from Boneham. Takanaka does a little dance to reset his feet. Boneham uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Takanaka.

Takanaka moves in looking to clinch but Boneham pushes him off. Boneham walks into a left hand. Takanaka misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Boneham counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Takanaka lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Boneham! Takanaka throws some wild stikes that Boneham manages to avoid easily.
Takanaka prevents Boneham from getting the reversal. Takanaka works his way to his opponent's back.
Will Takanaka go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Takanaka has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Boneham has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Biff Boneham dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

and Takanaka counters with a lovely straight right hand! Takanaka lands with a shot to the body. Boneham fails with the takedown and Takanaka cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Takanaka lands a with a good body shot. A combination from Takanaka does no damage. Boneham slips under a jab. Takanaka is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Boneham takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
That's one minute gone in the round. Takanaka throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body. Boneham ducks under a wild hook from Takanaka. Takanaka fails with an attempt to clinch.

Boneham moves forwards but Takanaka connects with a nice, crisp jab. Takanaka connects with a good right hand that stumbles Boneham. Boneham circles away out of range and recomposes himself. A shot to the body from Boneham misses and Takanaka connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Takanaka just misses with a punch to the body.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Takanaka smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Boneham scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Takanaka is trying is best to control the position here. Takanaka is trying to control but can't.
Boneham not landing any meaningful shots this time. Boneham is thwarting Takanaka's attempts to control the position. Takanaka is looking to get back to full guard here but Boneham has managed to pass to side control instead. Boneham avoids the attempt from Takanaka to control. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Hirohidi Takanaka just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Takanaka tries to clinch but Boneham is having none of it. Hirohidi Takanaka seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Takanaka throws a shot from downtown. Boneham moves away and avoids it. Boneham slips a straight right by Takanaka. Takanaka getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Takanaka showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Boneham.
Hirohidi Takanaka is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Takanaka misses with a looping left. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Hirohidi Takanaka dominated that second round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Takanaka is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Boneham misses with an uppercut. Takanaka saw that one coming. Boneham closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Boneham lands in his opponent's guard. Boneham is working Takanaka over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Boneham postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Boneham won't allow Takanaka to sweep him here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Boneham throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Takanaka works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Takanaka is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Boneham trying to control but Takanaka is working from the bottom. Takanaka escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Boneham gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Boneham cracks Takanaka with a solid left hand.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Boneham throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Takanaka stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Boneham misses the shot to the body. Takanaka misses the jab. Boneham scores with a jab to the body. Takanaka throws a big shot that misses. Good leg kick by Takanaka there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Takanaka scores with a crisp jab that stopped Boneham in his tracks. Takanaka lands a really nice looking cross but Boneham seems unphased.
Boneham clobbers Takanaka with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Takanaka slaps away a takedown attempt from Boneham, before circling back to the center of the mat. Nice shot lands for Takanaka. Takanaka tries to clinch but Boneham moves out of range. Boneham moves away from the strike by Takanaka. Left hook, right uppercut from Boneham.
And that's the end of the fight! Biff Boneham comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Boneham has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
