Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Juan Lopez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brandon Patrick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Patrick has chosen They Like Me as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Brandon Patrick!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, William Peck and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lopez misses with a wild combination.
Patrick looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Patrick wants to control but Lopez is keeping him busy.
Patrick thows a huge punch but Lopez dodges it nicely.
Patrick is pressing down on Lopez's thigh, looking to free his foot. Lopez is holding on for now.
Patrick is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Lopez defends it well.
Patrick moves nicely into side control.

Patrick creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.

Patrick wants to lay and pray for a moment but Lopez keeps working.
Lopez won't allow Patrick to pass to mount.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Patrick is looking to take a break and control but Lopez is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Still in half guard, Patrick seems content to control.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Patrick shoots in but Lopez avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Juan Lopez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lopez stuffs the takedown attempt from Patrick. Patrick gets slowly back to his feet.
Lopez cracks a nice hook into Patrick's ribs.

Lopez throws a nice looking combination but Patrick bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Lopez misses with a series of wild punches.
Patrick is trying hard to land a takedown here. Lopez sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Juan Lopez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brandon Patrick.

Patrick bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Patrick is looking to take a break and control but Lopez is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Lopez knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Patrick on the ground.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Lopez wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Brandon Patrick dominated that round.
That's time! Lopez's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Patrick feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Patrick wants to control from the top but Lopez keeps moving.

Patrick is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Lopez is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
