Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Frank Dukes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Christopher Hero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hero has chosen No shelter - Rage against the machine as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Frank Dukes! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Christopher Hero! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and .
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hero swats away the attempt to clinch by Dukes. Dukes shoots in for a double leg but Hero sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Dukes looks to land a combination but Hero avoids it well. Horrible takedown by Dukes or perhaps it was just good defense by Hero which made him look bad. Hero throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Dukes's head. Dukes misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dukes is trying hard to land a takedown here. Hero sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Frank Dukes. That's going to take a lot out of him. Dukes looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Hero is fending him off so far but Dukes persists. Nope, Hero circles away and we're back to standing. Dukes fails to land with a series of punches.
Dukes shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Hero as he avoids it easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hero missing with a left hand there. Dukes was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Hero keeps the fight on the outside. Hero leaves Dukes with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. A head kick by Dukes misses and Hero counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Hero throws a left and a right that both miss
and Dukes decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Hero's guard. Hero is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Hero working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Dukes. Dukes throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Hero works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Hero tries to land a sweep but no joy. Dukes tries to stand but Hero is controlling from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hero working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Dukes. Dukes stopping the sweep attempt from Hero. Dukes has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Hero is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Hero misses with a double jab.
Frank Dukes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Dukes's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Dukes duly obliges. Dukes shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Hero counters with a nice body kick.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hero looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Hero seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Dukes working for a triangle but Hero defends it easily.
Dukes looking for a sweep. Not yet Dukes, not yet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dukes looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Hero puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Dukes trying to control here.
Hero tries to stand and escape but Dukes is controlling the position. Dukes tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Dukes doesn't succeed with the takedown and Hero counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Dukes's guard now. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Christopher Hero dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Dukes defending well as Hero loads up on a big left hand. Dukes tries to clinch and Hero counters with a thumping low kick. Dukes closes the distance but Hero moves to the side and Hero counters with an inside leg kick. Hero shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Hero controlling the action here. Dukes trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!
That's one minute gone in the round. Dukes throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing. Hero is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Dukes has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Dukes! Hero preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Dukes stands up over Hero, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Dukes wants to control from the top but Hero keeps moving. Hero keeping full guard, as Dukes tries to pass. Dukes wants to get up but he can't break Hero's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Dukes missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hero managing to control the position. Hero working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Dukes. Hero is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Dukes punching from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hero stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Dukes to get to his feet. Dukes shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Hero counters with a head kick. Frank Dukes is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Dukes misses with a takedown and Hero counters with a good, hard body kick but Dukes shrugs it off. A slow jab from Hero misses its intended target. Hero swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Dukes counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Hero! Dukes looking to finish with strikes here!

That's four minutes gone in the round. Dukes landing strikes, looking to finish! Dukes trying to control but he's not successful this time. Hero tries to reverse the position but Dukes maintains control. Frank Dukes overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. BOOM! Dukes connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Dukes moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Hero has worked his arm free - good work by Hero!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Dukes looking to control but instead Hero has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Christopher Hero will probably get the nod - 10:9. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!
Hero dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Dukes. That did some damage! Dukes has his takedown stuffed and Hero counters with a single leg into guard. Dukes didn't expect that. Dukes working a defensive guard here.
Hero slips nicely into half guard. Dukes tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hero is figuring out what he wants to do next. Dukes is trying to stand back up but Hero is controlling him

and Hero counters with a takedown into side control. Dukes struggling a bit here. Dukes is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dukes tries to improve position but can't. Hero just content to control the position. Hero decides to stand back up. Dukes misses with a takedown and Hero decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Dukes's guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Hero stands and steps away. Dukes gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Excellent takedown into side control there by Dukes.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dukes cracks Hero with a big right hand but Hero just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Dukes swings around for an armbar but Hero sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Dukes's guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Hero wants to pass the guard but Dukes is keeping the position. Hero sitting in guard, not really doing much. Christopher Hero is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Dukes looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Hero puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Dukes throws a sloppy strike from the bottom. He's now off balance and Hero manages to pass to side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Dukes wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Dukes trying his best to control but Hero has mounted him. Dukes sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Dukes is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Hero is controlling the pace.
Frank Dukes has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
And that's the end of the fight! Christopher Hero comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Hero has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
