Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Frank Shamrock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matthew Pajen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pajen is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Slagsmålsklubben Sponsored by destiny. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Frank Shamrock! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Matthew Pajen! The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Patrick Alders and Paulsen Ambrosius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pajen gets a takedown into half guard. Shamrock is defending against the submission attempts here by Pajen.
Pajen seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Shamrock does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Shamrock is pressing down on Pajen's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Shamrock is looking for a triangle but Pajen pushes his legs off easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pajen gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Pajen gets a takedown into half guard. Pajen trying to pass the guard but Shamrock defending well. Pajen is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Shamrock defends it well. Shamrock slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pajen trying to control but Shamrock is working from the bottom. Pajen looking to sit in guard and control but Shamrock gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Shamrock stays in close to Pajen's body and controls the position. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Shamrock accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Shamrock stopping the sweep attempt from Pajen. Shamrock drops back looking for a leg! Pajen is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Pajen manages to kick Shamrock off! Shamrock jumps back into Pajen's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shamrock trying to control the position from guard on top but Pajen is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Shamrock might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Shamrock postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Pajen is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Shamrock, into his guard. Pajen wants to control from the top but Shamrock keeps moving.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Shamrock manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Pajen manages to get himself to full guard.
Shamrock lands a couple of digs. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Pajen is on top in guard.
Pajen is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Pajen looking to sit in guard and control but Shamrock gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Shamrock has gone for a leg lock! Pajen slips out almost immediately though and dives into Shamrock's guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Matthew Pajen dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Shamrock with a lazy takedown attempt and Pajen counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Shamrock looking for a guillotine here but Pajen defends easily.
Pajen must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Pajen trying to control the position from guard on top but Shamrock is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Pajen is working Shamrock over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Pajen trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Shamrock is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pajen is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Pajen cracks Shamrock with a solid left hand. Pajen passes Shamrock's left leg - he's now in half guard. Shamrock looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Shamrock is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Pajen's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Pajen's back!
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Shamrock is controlling the position but Pajen somehow manages to roll and ends up with half guard.
Pajen manages to escape and get back to his feet! Shamrock misses with a takedown and Pajen counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Shamrock is staying active underneath Pajen, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Shamrock tries to get to full guard but Pajen has control of the leg. Pajen is looking for submissions but instead, Shamrock has regained full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pajen advances position into side control! Pajen working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. You can see the frustration on Shamrock's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Shamrock sneaks back into half guard. Shamrock trying to control here.
Shamrock is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Pajen is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Shamrock wants to improve his position but Pajen is controlling well.
Pajen looks to land a strike but Shamrock avoids it nicely and regains full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Matthew Pajen showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Shamrock's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
Shamrock gets caught flat footed, as Pajen shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Pajen trying to move into half guard but instead Shamrock has managed to sweep! Shamrock tries to free his leg and advance position but Pajen is retaining full guard. Shamrock decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Pajen, up you get! Shamrock shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Shamrock was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Pajen is looking to get to half guard. Shamrock jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Pajen manages to avoid the submission attempt. Shamrock working away. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shamrock working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Pajen manages to get back to half guard. Matthew Pajen has got the better of the ground game so far. Pajen is trying to get back to full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Pajen is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Pajen works his way to full guard. Good work. Shamrock throwing strikes but missing. Shamrock is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Pajen working a defensive guard here.
Shamrock pushes down on Pajen's leg and manages to get into half guard. Pajen is looking for a sweep. Shamrock is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Shamrock looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Shamrock throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Shamrock is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Pajen has managed to free his arm - good work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pajen keeping control of the position. Pajen wants to improve his position but Shamrock is controlling well.
Shamrock looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Pajen wants to control the action here but instead Shamrock manages to pass to full mount! Frank Shamrock has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Pajen is trying desperately to improve position. Shamrock tries to control but Pajen wriggling away. Shamrock throwing shots from mount but they're not landing. Pajen is looking to get to half guard. Matthew Pajen is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Shamrock looking for a guillotine from mount but Pajen is having none of it.
And that's the end of the fight! Frank Shamrock showed his dominance in that final round. Well Pajen has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
