PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brett INT (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Stubb (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Michael Stubb was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Brett INT!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Michael Stubb!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Stubb shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. INT is trying to defend but Stubb finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Stubb prevents INT from standing back up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
INT is trying to control but can't.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
INT is looking to improve his position.

Stubb is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Stubb blocks the strikes from INT.
INT might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Stubb is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
INT trying to control here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Stubb uses his free foot to push down on INT's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for INT.

Stubb goes for an armbar but INT turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from INT.
Stubb is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
INT wants to control from the top but Stubb keeps moving.
INT tries to stand but Stubb is controlling from the bottom.
INT has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Stubb is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and INT defends well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Stubb is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
INT is looking to stand up but Stubb won't let him.

Stubb working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. INT doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Stubb is tightening it up a little... INT has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! INT reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! INT taps out! nice BJJ there by Stubb!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Michael Stubb!
