Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Andy Norris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Leon Lewis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Andy Norris!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Leon Lewis!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Stewart Dunkirk and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Norris steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Lewis.
Norris tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Norris is looking to clinch but Lewis is avoiding it.
Norris avoids a punch combination nicely.
Lewis fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Lewis fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Lewis keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

and Lewis counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Lewis.
Norris lands an elbow inside.


It looks like Leon Lewis has been cut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Norris manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Lewis drops down looking for an ankle pick but Norris pulls his leg out and moves away.
Andy Norris has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Leon Lewis.

Lewis leaves Norris with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

and Lewis counters with a takedown into side control.
Norris wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Lewis stands up.
Norris shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Lewis decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Norris's guard.
Norris is breathing heavily.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Norris looking to hit a scissor sweep but Lewis is one step ahead there.

Lewis gets to his feet. Norris looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Lewis shoots and misses
and Norris counters with a series of strikes. Lewis will be more careful next time no doubt.
Lewis swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Lewis shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Lewis looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Lewis connects with a nice short shot to Norris's temple.

Well, if Lewis is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Lewis is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lewis missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Lewis is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Lewis in particular looking to stall.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Norris pushes Lewis off but Lewis dives into side control.
Lewis in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.

Lewis creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lewis fails with a takedown attempt.
Norris shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Norris takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Lewis tries a head kick but it misses.
Lewis throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Norris's head.
Lewis darts in trying to clinch
and Norris counters with a nice low kick that buckles Lewis's knee momentarily.
Norris has his takedown stuffed

so Lewis counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Lewis advances position into side control!
Lewis has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Norris!

Norris reaches up to try and control the position but Lewis seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Norris rolls and tries to escape and now Lewis has his back!
Leon Lewis has got the better of the ground game so far.
Norris looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
Lewis has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
I really don't envy Norris right now.
Norris is trapped and Lewis is scoring with shots to the head and body.
Lewis is punishing Norris with strikes - can he finish him?!
Norris tries to escape but Lewis has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
Norris trying to get back to his feet but Lewis is in full control for now.

Lewis connects with a series of strikes and the referee is calling for Norris to escape the position.

Lewis is working the ground and pound here and the referee is taking a close look at Norris. He must escape soon or this one will be stopped.

Norris is trapped and Lewis is scoring with shots to the head and body.

So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
Norris trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble.

Leon Lewis showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Lewis lands a jab to Norris's midsection.
Norris scores with a push kick.
Norris takes a body punch but keeps moving.

Lewis closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Lewis lands in his opponent's guard.

Norris working a defensive guard but Lewis manages to pass into side control anyway.
Lewis wants to lay and pray for a moment but Norris keeps working.
You can see the frustration on Norris's face as Lewis controls the position.
Lewis cracks Norris with a big elbow.
Norris wants to get back to his feet.

Lewis thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Lewis slows the pace down.
Lewis wants to control but Norris is keeping him busy.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Lewis advances to full mount.
Norris can't escape the position.
Lewis tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Lewis lands a nice shot to the head.
Lewis sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

Despite being in the dominant position, Leon Lewis just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Norris wants to clinch but Lewis slips to the side

and Lewis counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Lewis.
Norris tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Lewis smiles and moves away.

Lewis shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Norris is pressing down on Lewis's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

And that's the end of the fight!
Leon Lewis comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Lewis has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3 rounds of action, we go to the scorecards for a decision.
