The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Anthony Taglia and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Penn will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Anderson darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Anderson stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Penn avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Anderson scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Anderson stands up.
Anderson connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Penn lands with a nice combination. Anderson backs away looking to recover.
It looks like Will Anderson has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Anderson misses with a body shot.
Penn misses with a body shot
and Anderson counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Penn darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Penn wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Penn loads up on a big right hand but Anderson slips the punch.
Penn throws a combination that misses
and Anderson cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Penn swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Penn throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Penn misses with a looping left.
BJ Penn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The fight moves into the clinch position.
Anderson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Penn gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Anderson pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Penn is keeping the position for now.
Anderson looks gassed!
Penn wants to stand and escape but Anderson is having none of it.
Andersonis looking to pass into half guard but Penn pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Penn is in guard.
Anderson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Penn can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Anderson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Penn gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Anderson wants to sweep here but Penn controlling him for the moment.
Anderson looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Penn decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Anderson, up you get!
Anderson moves out of range of the strikes.
Anderson looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
BJ Penn is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Penn throws a hook but Anderson avoids it easily.
Penn scores with a jab to the body.
Penn sends Anderson crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Penn is motioning to the referee to let Anderson up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Penn swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Penn drops Anderson with a huge uppercut! Anderson drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes. Penn is raining down punches and the ref stops the fight! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:10 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). BJ Penn!
