Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jef Overeem!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, David Eugene!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Nard Betker and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Eugene throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Overeem's head.
Overeem tries for a takedown but Eugene sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Eugene lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Eugene plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!


It looks like Jef Overeem has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Overeem shoots in but no luck this time.
Eugene fails to land the takedown.

Overeem jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Eugene is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Eugene and Overeem has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Overeem is breathing heavily.
Eugene is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Overeem has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Overeem looking to break Eugene's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Eugene remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Overeem will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Eugene should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Overeem gets back to full guard.

Eugene drops back, looking for a kneebar! Overeem looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Overeem looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Overeem!

Overeem working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Overeem tries to score with some ground and pound. Eugene controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Overeem throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Eugene's waist but Eugene gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Overeem off to one side.

Eugene has Overeem up against the cage in a clinch.

Eugene is looking to stand up but Overeem won't let him.
Eugene must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Overeem manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Eugene manages to get himself to full guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Eugene drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Overeem dives on top into guard.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!



Eugene shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Overeem's guard.

Eugene gets to his feet. Overeem looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Eugene moves into range and lands a nice body kick.

David Eugene is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

David Eugene comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Eugene winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
