Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jon Sorensen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Porter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jon Sorensen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Chris Porter! The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Alexandre Firmino and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sorensen cracks a nice hook into Porter's ribs. A choreographed right hand from Porter misses the target. Porter closes the distance and clinches up with Sorensen, looking for a takedown. Porter pushes Sorensen against the cage but Sorensen circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Sorensen keeps the fight on the outside. Nice sprawl there from Sorensen as Porter shoots in. Porter showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Sorensen.
Porter just misses with a punch to the body.
Porter closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Sorensen to the mat! Sorensen manages to get full guard. Porter throws a big right hand that misses. Porter drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Porter jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Sorensen utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Porter accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Porter stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sorensen swivels though and keeps the full guard. Porter is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Porter throws a big right hand that misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sorensen is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Porter is controlling him. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Sorensen is looking to score with low kicks. Porter throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Some wild striking there from Sorensen.
Porter lands with an uppercut that bounces Sorensen off the cage and back into rage. Sorensen wants to slow Porter down by chopping away at his legs. Porter throws a solid leg kick but Sorensen takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Porter. Porter looks to land a body kick but Sorensen moved away. Porter blocks the body kick.
Porter takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Chris Porter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Sorensen feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Porter's calf. Sorensen tries to land a leg kick but Porter saw it coming and moves away.
Porter takes one on the button. Porter throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Sorensen counters with a two punch combo.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Porter shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Sorensen counters with a three punch combo that has Porter backing up. Porter nods at Sorensen to acknowledge the strikes. Jon Sorensen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chris Porter. Porter looks gassed! A shot to the body from Porter misses and Sorensen counters with a shoot takedown. Porter fights it but they end up in guard. Porter trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Porter has his foot on Sorensen's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Sorensen works his way back into a safe position though. Sorensen has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Porter is looking for a triangle here but Sorensen uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Porter is trying to control Sorensen's posture but Sorensen avoids it. Porter has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Porter is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Sorensen off and has taken his back! Porter looking for the RNC. Porter lands a punch to the side of the head from the back.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sorensen is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Porter gets his way!
Sorensen could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Porter looking for the choke but no joy. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage! Sorensen is taking damage to the body and head. Porter throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch. Sorensen is in a bad position with Porter working for a choke. Sorensen manages to spin nicely into guard and the danger is over for the moment.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Sorensen avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Porter is on top in guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Porter with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Sorensen is trying to control the position but Porter postures up. Porter slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Sorensen tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Porter wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Sorensen is trying to control Porter's posture but Porter avoids it. Sorensen might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. The strikes coming from Porter are missing the target in this wave of attacks. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Sorensen bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet! Porter wants to clinch and Sorensen counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Sorensen smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Chris Porter dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Porter thows a body kick. Sorensen tries to catch it but that hurt him. Porter misses with a takedown and Sorensen counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Porter misses with a right hand and Sorensen counters with a lovely straight right hand! Sorensen wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Porter darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Porter slows the pace down in half guard. Porter is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Sorensen is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:51 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Chris Porter!
