Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kyle Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robert Oak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kyle Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Robert Oak!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Elvis Blanc and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones throws a front kick aimed at Oak's knee but Oak avoids it well.
Jones thows a left - swing and a miss!
Jones throws a sloppy head kick and Oak moves out of range easily.
Jones misses with the combination.
Jones throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Jones throws a series of punches but Oak moves out of range.
Jones is looking to clinch.
No joy there for Jones, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Jones misses with a body kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jones fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Oak checks it well.
Oak slips a jab and a cross from Jones.
Jones tries to close the distance and clinch up but Oak swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Jones lands a right hook to the body.

Jones fails to land with a series of punches.
Oak keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Jones.
Jones throws a right and a left that both miss.
Jones misses with a looping right.
Jones throws a sloppy head kick and Oak moves out of range easily.
Kyle Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Horrible takedown by Oak or perhaps it was just good defense by Jones which made him look bad.
No luck for Oak with that takedown attempt.
Oak throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Jones's waist but Jones gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Oak off to one side.
Kyle Jones has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Robert Oak.
Jones throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Jones tries to bum rush Oak with a series of wild strikes but Oak uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Jones lands with a kick to the ribs.

Jones scores with the left hand. Oak knows he should have avoided that one.
Jones throws a right and a left that Oak avoids nicely.
Jones jabbing away but nothing is landing.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Oak is defended easily by Jones.

Jones tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Jones lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Oak has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Oak and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Oak shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Jones but Jones pushes him off and we're back to square one.
The fight stays on the outside here - Jones looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

and Oak counters with a shoot takedown. Jones fights it but they end up in guard.
Oak would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Oak postures up in Jones's guard and throws a big left but Jones blocks it.
Jones knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Oak on the ground.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Jones throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.

and Oak counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Oak takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

so Oak counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Oak sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Jones's guard.
Oak is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Oak slips a nice elbow through Jones's hands, connecting with Jones's forehead.
Oak thows a huge punch but Jones dodges it nicely.
Jones avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Oak.
Oak looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Jones with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Oak thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Jones's head.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Robert Oak showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. And we move into the final round!

and Oak counters with a shoot takedown. Jones fights it but they end up in guard.
Oak postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Jones utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jones on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Jones tries to get out of the position.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Oak has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Jones wants to stand and escape but Oak is having none of it.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Oak avoids the head kick by Jones.
Jones lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Jones stalks Oak and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Oak's face. Oak staggers backwards, shaken.
Jones works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

and Oak makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Jones really felt that one!

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Oak connects with a nice short shot to Jones's temple.

Oak looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Jones with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Oak tries to score a power double leg takedown but Jones sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Oak somewhat.
Oak has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Oak there as he acknowledges the shot.

and Oak counters with a takedown into side control.
Oak lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Oak looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Jones is avoiding damage well.
Jones is working to avoid the ground and pound but Oak connects with a decent elbow.
Oak misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

And that's the end of the fight!
Robert Oak comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Oak has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
