PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dante Delaplous (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Berend Raadschilders (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Raadschilders has chosen Eye of the Tiger as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Dante Delaplous!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Berend Raadschilders!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Albert Achterberg and Nard Betker.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Delaplous shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Raadschilders but Raadschilders pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Raadschilders rushes Delaplous and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Raadschilders creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Delaplous's defenses.

Raadschilders pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Raadschilders has managed to clinch.
Raadschilders working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.

Raadschilders breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Raadschilders lands a two punch combo.
Delaplous really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Raadschilders takes the fight into the clinch.
Raadschilders slowing the pace effectively.
Delaplous is trying to drag Raadschilders to the mat but Raadschilders just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Raadschilders's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Raadschilders closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Raadschilders lands in his opponent's guard.
Raadschilders is looking to stand up but Delaplous won't let him.

Raadschilders trying to control but Delaplous is working from the bottom.

Delaplous is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Raadschilders got a little sloppy there for a moment and Delaplous has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Raadschilders has managed to get both his arms back between Delaplous's legs - danger averted.

Raadschilders really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Delaplous. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Delaplous is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Raadschilders pulls his head out easily.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Raadschilders moves into range and clinches up with Delaplous.
Raadschilders landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
Delaplous has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Raadschilders avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Raadschilders gets a clinch.
Raadschilders landing knees to the body.
Raadschilders comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Raadschilders lands an elbow inside that Delaplous shrugs off.

Raadschilders gets underhooks to prevent Delaplous's takedown attempt.
Delaplous is working for takedown but Raadschilders is calmly controlling the position for now.
The referee calls for Raadschilders to work.
Raadschilders lands a nice elbow.
Delaplous wants a takedown.
Delaplous has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Raadschilders is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Raadschilders manages to break the clinch.

Raadschilders drives through and clinches with Delaplous against the cage.

Raadschilders breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

and Raadschilders counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Delaplous's guard now.
Raadschilders wants to control from the top but Delaplous keeps moving.

Delaplous is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Raadschilders is aware though and is defending well.
Raadschilders sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Delaplous's guard.
Raadschilders winds up and cracks Delaplous with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Delaplous has hold of Raadschilders's hands but Raadschilders slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Raadschilders decides to stand up.

Raadschilders clinches with his opponent.
Delaplous goes for a takedown attempt but Raadschilders pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Dante Delaplous seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Raadschilders throws a head kick but Delaplous moves out of range.

Raadschilders feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Delaplous working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Raadschilders doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Raadschilders manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Raadschilders is looking to stand up but Delaplous won't let him.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Berend Raadschilders dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Delaplous doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Raadschilders counters with a good, hard body kick but Delaplous shrugs it off.

Raadschilders shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Raadschilders has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Delaplous's face.
Delaplous slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.

Raadschilders looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Delaplous had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Raadschilders defends it easily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Raadschilders is sitting in close to Delaplous's body. Delaplous has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Raadschilders is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Raadschilders is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Delaplous.
