Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Yurik Khripunov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and bash jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). bash jones is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Yurik Khripunov !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, bash jones!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Viktor Lagutenko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Khripunov is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Khripunov fails with an attempt to clinch.
Khripunov doesn't manage to clinch there - jones circles away.
jones shoots for a double leg takedown but Khripunov sprawls well. He's pushed jones's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Khripunov misses with a takedown attempt - jones sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Khripunov is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so jones is just riding it out for now. Khripunov eventually gives up the hold.
jones is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Khripunov 's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Khripunov 's back!
jones is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Khripunov knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Khripunov for a finish.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

jones is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Yurik Khripunov just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.

Khripunov feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

jones is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

jones connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Khripunov some visible discomfort.

jones has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Khripunov to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! jones is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Khripunov pulls down on the head and he's put jones to sleep! This one is all over!
