Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fedor Emelianenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vladimir Sirin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Emelianenko comes to the cage accompanied by Enae Volare Mezzo. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Vladimir Sirin!
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Viktor Lagutenko and Fedor Mirinova.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sirin tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Sirin tries to clinch up but Emelianenko circles away and keeps his distance.
Sirin wants to clinch up but Emelianenko keeps it at a distance.
A jab from Sirin finds it's way through Emelianenko's defenses.


It looks like Fedor Emelianenko has been cut.
Sirin doesn't manage to clinch there - Emelianenko circles away.
Sirin tries to close the distance and clinch but Emelianenko swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Emelianenko avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Emelianenko could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Sirin feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Emelianenko scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Sirin moves out of range of the body kick.
Sirin fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Emelianenko avoids it really well and circles away.

Sirin tries to clinch up but Emelianenko circles away and keeps his distance.

and Emelianenko counters with a head kick. That will keep Sirin thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Sirin looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Emelianenko is fending him off so far but Sirin persists. Nope, Emelianenko circles away and we're back to standing.

Sirin will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Emelianenko up against the cage.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Sirin tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Emelianenko just stands there and leans against the cage.

Sirin continues to stall. The referee tells him to work or he's going to break them up.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Emelianenko as Sirin tries to tie him up.

and Emelianenko counters with a flying knee that drops Sirin!
Sirin really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Emelianenko. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Sirin wants to stand and escape but Emelianenko is having none of it.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Sirin can do anything to dispel that myth.
Sirin wants to get back to his feet but Emelianenko passes into half guard.

Well, if Emelianenko is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Sirin pushes Emelianenko off but Emelianenko dives into side control.
Sirin is trying to get back to his feet.
Sirin is breathing heavily.

Sirin bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
Fedor Emelianenko is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Emelianenko jumps guard but Sirin stands there with Emelianenko around his waist. Emelianenko gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.

Emelianenko escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

and Emelianenko counters with an inside leg kick.

Sirin drives through with a takedown into guard.
Sirin throws a strike but Emelianenko rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Emelianenko wants to lay and pray for a moment but Sirin keeps working.
Sirin is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Emelianenko has just dragged him back down to the mat.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Horrible takedown by Sirin or perhaps it was just good defense by Emelianenko which made him look bad.

Sirin wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Emelianenko has him pressed against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Emelianenko looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Sirin is trying to stall.
Sirin takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Emelianenko tries to pull guard but Sirin holds him up against the cage and eventually Emelianenko drops back down to his feet.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Sirin takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Emelianenko tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Sirin smiles and moves away.

Emelianenko moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.

Emelianenko wants to clinch up but Sirin keeps it at a distance.
Vladimir Sirin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Emelianenko counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Sirin is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Sirin stands up and waves to Emelianenko to follow him.

and Sirin holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Sirin is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Emelianenko is keeping busy.
Sirin lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Emelianenko tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Sirin just stands there and leans against the cage.

And that's the end of the fight!
Fedor Emelianenko showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Emelianenko has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
