Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Boom Tree!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ralph Gordon!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Kenichi Hosakawa and Yasuomi Hirokawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tree scores a takedown into full mount!
Gordon is looking to improve his position but Tree isn't that keen on the idea.
Gordon is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
Tree is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Gordon has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Tree will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Tree content just to control the position here.
Gordon is looking to get to half guard.
Tree working away from the top, dropping strikes.

Tree controlling his opponent.
Tree looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Gordon really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Tree. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
BOOM! Tree connects with a massive shot to the dome!
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Tree cracks Gordon with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Tree with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Gordon in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Gordon is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Tree takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Tree wants to control the pace but Gordon is squirming around nicely.
Gordon tries to hold on but Tree pushes him away.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Tree jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Gordon is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Gordon and Tree has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Gordon tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Tree has hold of Gordon's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Gordon tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Tree cranks the arm and Gordon screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Gordon, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Boom Tree!
