Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the super heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones tries to keep at a distance but Mcdough has taken the fight into the clinch. Mcdough manages to pull guard.
Mcdough will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Jones is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Jones drops back looking for a leg! Mcdough is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Mcdough manages to kick Jones off! Jones jumps back into Mcdough's guard. Jones drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Mcdough dives on top into guard. Mcdough postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Jones has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Mcdough is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Jones. Mcdough thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Mcdough trying to control the position but Jones is working away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones sneaks back into half guard. Jones is looking to improve his position.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Mcdough pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Jones keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Mcdough wants to control the pace but Jones is squirming around nicely. Mcdough takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Jones really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Mcdough knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jones on the ground. Jones is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones is trying to reverse the position but instead Mcdough has taken his back - oops! Jones breaks Mcdough's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Mcdough is breathing heavily. Jones drops back looking for a leg! Mcdough is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Mcdough manages to kick Jones off! Jones jumps back into Mcdough's guard.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. A nice inside leg kick there by Mcdough. That's going to slow Jones down. Mcdough keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Mcdough digs a good body shot into Jones's ribs. Jones avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Jones feints and as Mcdough raises his hands in defense, Jones changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Mcdough on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Mcdough tries to get out of the position. Jones looking to pass the guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mcdough wants to sweep here but Jones controlling him for the moment. Jones is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Jones has gone for a leg lock! Mcdough slips out almost immediately though and dives into Jones's guard. Jones looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Jones lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Mcdough! Jones with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

A close round but Laquisish Jones will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Mcdough stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Mcdough wants it to stay on the feet. Jones fails in his attempt to clinch. Mcdough scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Jones closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Mcdough looks like he's trying to stand up.
Jones is looking for a kimura but Mcdough is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Jones to get the leverage. Jones is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Mcdough has managed to free his arm - good work. Mcdough trying to control from the bottom.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Mcdough misses with some strikes from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Mcdough is just riding it out for now. Jones eventually gives up the hold. Jones is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Mcdough defends it well. Jones is looking for a kimura here.
