Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jason Vorhees (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and George Samuel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Samuel has chosen Imma Do It as his entrance music. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jason Vorhees!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, George Samuel!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, David Schapiro and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vorhees jabbing away but nothing is landing.

Samuel gets the takedown into side control.
Vorhees controls the position for a moment.
Vorhees is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Samuel working away.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Samuel in side control, throwing shots but Vorhees defends.
Samuel lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Vorhees down.

Vorhees bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
Samuel shoots in looking for a takedown. Vorhees tries to sprawl out of it but Samuel keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Vorhees manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Vorhees rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Samuel moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Vorhees throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Vorhees throws a body punch but Samuel moves out of range.
Samuel takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Jason Vorhees is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
A jab from Vorhees misses.
Samuel closes this distance looking for a takedown but Vorhees circles away.
Vorhees tries to bum rush Samuel with a series of wild strikes but Samuel uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Jason Vorhees seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Samuel drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Vorhees sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Vorhees wants to get back to his feet.

Samuel looks to land a strike but Vorhees avoids it nicely and regains full guard.

Vorhees has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Samuel can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Samuel must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Samuel throws a strike but Vorhees rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Vorhees seems to be looking for submissions.

Samuel manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Vorhees fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Vorhees misses with a wild combination.
Samuel shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Vorhees pinned against the cage. Vorhees gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Jason Vorhees has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of George Samuel.

Vorhees thuds a left hand into Samuel's body.
Samuel has a takedown stuffed.
Samuel shoots in but no luck this time.
Samuel looks gassed!
Samuel will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Vorhees cracks Samuel with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.


It looks like George Samuel has been cut.
No joy there for Vorhees, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Samuel changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Vorhees tries to avoid it but Samuel manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Vorhees to the ground. Vorhees escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Vorhees throws a series of punches but Samuel moves out of range.
Samuel has a takedown stuffed.
Vorhees misses with the combination.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Samuel thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Vorhees's head.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Samuel lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Vorhees moves into full guard.
Vorhees working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Samuel.
Samuel is breathing heavily.
Samuel with a flurry of punches that miss.
Samuel really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Vorhees. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Samuel loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Vorhees escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Samuel gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Samuel stops Vorhees from standing up.
Samuel with a flurry of punches that miss.

Vorhees working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Samuel doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Samuel manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Vorhees avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Samuel lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Samuel is working Vorhees over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Vorhees wants to stand but Samuel is controlling the position.
Samuel throws and elbow that misses. Vorhees uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Samuel's guard. Nice move by Vorhees!

Vorhees postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Samuel is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Vorhees, into his guard.

Vorhees wants to stand up but Samuel is controlling him.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Samuel's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Samuel accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but George Samuel will probably get the nod - 10:9.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Vorhees lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Samuel changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Vorhees tries to avoid it but Samuel manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Vorhees to the ground. Vorhees escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Samuel dodges the punch combination from Vorhees.

Jason Vorhees is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Vorhees throws the left hand but Samuel avoids the punch easily.
Vorhees throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.

Samuel shoots in for a takedown but Vorhees shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Jason Vorhees has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of George Samuel.

Vorhees wants to control from the top but Samuel keeps moving.

Samuel is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Samuel tries to pull guard but Vorhees holds him up against the cage and eventually Samuel drops back down to his feet.
Samuel has Vorhees pressed against the cage, preventing Vorhees from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Vorhees looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Samuel manages to break the clinch.
Vorhees ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Samuel moves away.
Samuel shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Nice sprawl there from Vorhees as Samuel shoots in.
Vorhees digs a good hook to Samuel's body.
Vorhees throws a good cross that connects.
Vorhees throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Vorhees drops Samuel with a left and a right! Oh, Samuel is hurt - Vorhees dives into side control looking to finish!

Samuel is still in real trouble! Can Vorhees finish him?
Samuel seems to have recovered his senses.
Samuel is trying to get back to his feet.

Vorhees has hold of Samuel's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Samuel seems comfortable defending it but Vorhees has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Samuel is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Samuel is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Vorhees couldn't care less - he's delighted!
