Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between ze mago (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wanderlei Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Silva is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Sandstorm. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
mago tries to clinch but Silva moves out of range.

Silva throws a combination. mago tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
mago shoots in but no luck this time.
mago shoots for a double leg takedown but Silva sprawls well. He's pushed mago's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

mago wants to control the pace but Silva is squirming around nicely.

That was a close second round but I would say that ze mago will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

and Silva makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Silva passes mago's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Silva takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

and Silva counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Silva throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as mago works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
mago on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if mago tries to get out of the position.

Silva is fighting to break mago's control of his arms but mago is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Wanderlei Silva comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Silva has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
