Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Vladivar Zubrowka! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Mark Irish! The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Donald Grub and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Zubrowka throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Horrible takedown by Irish or perhaps it was just good defense by Zubrowka which made him look bad. Zubrowka throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. No joy there for Zubrowka, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Irish moves out of range of the body kick. Zubrowka moves into range and clinches up with Irish. Zubrowka with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head. Zubrowka is pressed up against the cage. Irish has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Zubrowka down to the mat. Zubrowka avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Zubrowka throws a sloppy head kick and Irish moves out of range easily. Zubrowka scores a takedown into full mount! Zubrowka trying to control but Irish is having none of it. Zubrowka controlling the pace for now. Zubrowka seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Irish for as long as he can get away with. Zubrowka trying to control but Irish is having none of it. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
That's one minute gone in the round. Irish is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Zubrowka controlling the position easily from mount.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Vladivar Zubrowka just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Irish doesn't succeed with the takedown and Zubrowka counters with a good low kick that Irish was not able to check. Vladivar Zubrowka has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mark Irish. Irish blocks a head kick by Zubrowka.

That will keep Irish thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! Irish has his takedown stuffed and Zubrowka moves into the clinch. Irish takes an elbow to the forehead.
It looks like Mark Irish has been cut.

Zubrowka's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Zubrowka throws a sloppy head kick and Irish moves out of range easily. Zubrowka throws a series of punches but Irish avoids them all with ease. Zubrowka scores with a nice body kick.
Vladivar Zubrowka seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Irish with a lazy takedown attempt and Zubrowka counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Zubrowka lands a knee to the head.
Irish blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Zubrowka breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

A head kick from Zubrowka lands but Irish takes it in his stride. Zubrowka feints and as Irish raises his hands in defense, Zubrowka changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Zubrowka wants to get up but he can't break Irish's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Irish controls Zubrowka momentarily but Zubrowka frees himself. Zubrowka throwing strikes but missing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Zubrowka stopping the sweep attempt from Irish. Irish is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Irish keeping moving, preventing Zubrowka from controlling successfully. Zubrowka would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Zubrowka pushes Irish away with a front kick. Zubrowka cracks the inside of Irish's front leg. Zubrowka moves into the clinch. Zubrowka unloads a knee to the mid-section. Irish lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. Zubrowka breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Irish has his takedown stuffed and Zubrowka counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Zubrowka lands with a kick to the temple. Irish shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Irish takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Irish misses with a takedown and Zubrowka counters with a takedown into side control. Irish looks gassed! Zubrowka taking a breather here. Irish struggling a bit here. Zubrowka controlling the position from side mount. Zubrowka wants to lay and pray for a moment but Irish keeps working. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Zubrowka takes a little break here. Irish wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. You can see the frustration on Irish's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Vladivar Zubrowka dominated that round. The cut man is working on Mark Irish's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Zubrowka forces Irish back against the cage and clinches. Zubrowka manages to break the clinch.
Vladivar Zubrowka is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Zubrowka lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Irish backs up against the cage.
Zubrowka throws a front kick that sends Irish stumbling back into the cage. Zubrowka throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Irish. Irish has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from Zubrowka. Zubrowka scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Irish with a poor takedown and Zubrowka counters with a head kick. Irish has his takedown stuffed and Zubrowka counters with a one-two to the body. Zubrowka misses with a head kick.

Irish shoots and misses and Zubrowka counters with a nice double leg into side control. Irish won't be happy with that. Vladivar Zubrowka has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mark Irish. Zubrowka tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily. Zubrowka is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Irish gets back to half guard. Irish wants to control but Zubrowka is keeping busy.
Zubrowka wants to stand up but Irish has a hold of him and won't allow it. Zubrowka is taking a breather. Irish says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Irish is trying to maintain the position but Zubrowka is very close to passing his half guard. Zubrowka stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being. Irish gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Zubrowka counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Zubrowka would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Irish has control of Zubrowka's left arm, preventing Zubrowka from doing any damage.

Irish working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Zubrowka doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Zubrowka manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Irish is breathing heavily. Irish has a closed guard, preventing Zubrowka from standing up. Zubrowka is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Irish is trying to keep Zubrowka in close.

Irish scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Zubrowka is trying to stand up here but Irish is controlling him well. Zubrowka trying to control but Irish postures up.
Zubrowka might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Irish wants to take a breather but Zubrowka is having none of it. Irish with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Zubrowka is trying to get back to full guard. Irish frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Vladivar Zubrowka overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. You get the feeling that Zubrowka really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Zubrowka tries to lock up and control but Irish gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Zubrowka is squirming around, avoiding Irish's attempts to control the action. Irish takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Zubrowka wants to hold on but Irish pushes him away. Irish tries to control but Zubrowka wriggling away. Zubrowka prevents Irish from taking his back. Zubrowka reaches up and holds on to Irish to control the position. Vladivar Zubrowka is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Irish controlling the position easily from mount. Irish trying to control but he's not successful this time. Zubrowka on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Zubrowka tries to get out of the position. Irish might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Zubrowka kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Irish has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Zubrowka is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Vladivar Zubrowka has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mark Irish. Zubrowka prevents the takedown attempt.
Irish drops down looking for an ankle pick but Zubrowka pulls his leg out and moves away.

Zubrowka putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Irish in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body. Zubrowka lands an elbow that stopped Irish in his tracks for a moment. Zubrowka breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Irish gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Zubrowka to score an easy takedown into full guard. Zubrowka is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Zubrowka postures up.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Zubrowka accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Irish can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Zubrowka controls the pace. Irish controls Zubrowka momentarily but Zubrowka frees himself.
And that's the end of the fight! Vladivar Zubrowka showed his dominance in that final round. Well Zubrowka has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
