Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Alek Mitchell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Malik Carr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Alek Mitchell! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Malik Carr! The judges for this bout are William Peck, Trevor Gratis and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Carr closes this distance looking for a takedown but Mitchell circles away. Carr blocks a head kick by Mitchell.
Carr throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Mitchell was covering up waiting for the punch and Carr finishes the takedown easily into guard. Carr slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Mitchell is trying to control Carr's posture but Carr avoids it. Mitchell is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Carr tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Carr wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mitchell keeps working. Carr tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Carr has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Carr wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Mitchell, who protects the arm well. Carr working the head and body with strikes. Carr tries to score with some ground and pound. Mitchell controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Mitchell struggling a bit here. Carr trying to control the action but Mitchell is working from the bottom. Carr swings around for an armbar but Mitchell sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Carr's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Carr working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mitchell doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Mitchell manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Carr looks gassed! The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Carr wants to sweep but no luck. Mitchell trying to control the position from guard on top but Carr is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Mitchell is really struggling to control Carr but he's trying to hold on to the position. Mitchell is stalling in the full guard. Carr keeping full guard, as Mitchell tries to pass. Mitchell trying to control but Carr is working from the bottom. Carr is looking for a triangle but Mitchell pushes his legs off easily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mitchell trying to control the position from guard on top but Carr is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Carr working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mitchell doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Mitchell manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Mitchell thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Carr keeping moving, preventing Mitchell from controlling successfully.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Alek Mitchell just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Carr feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Mitchell controls Carr momentarily but Carr frees himself. Carr working some strikes from top position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Carr trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Mitchell had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Carr defends it easily. Carr looking to pass the guard. Carr passes easily into side control. Nice work. Carr trying to control the position but Mitchell is working away. Mitchell sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Mitchell trying to control from the bottom.
Carr is trying to work for a kimura but Mitchell is defending well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Malik Carr dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Mitchell throws the left hand but Carr avoids the punch easily. Carr shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Mitchell's guard. Mitchell is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Carr thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Mitchell keeping moving, preventing Carr from controlling successfully. Carr is posturing up here but Mitchell has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Carr tries to roll out but it's too tight and Carr has to tap! Slick submission there by Mitchell!
