Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pete Martin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tiago Raposo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Pete Martin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tiago Raposo!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Russell Pearce and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Martin takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Martin misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Martin takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Raposo bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Raposo looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Martin looking for a sweep. Not yet Martin, not yet.

Raposo drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Raposo jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Martin looking to hit a scissor sweep but Raposo is one step ahead there.
Raposo really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Martin. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Raposo wants to control from the top but Martin keeps moving.
Raposo would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Martin tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Martin pulls Raposo in close to prevent any damage.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Raposo connects with a solid leg kick.
Raposo avoids the head kick by Martin.

Martin shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Raposo's guard.

Raposo is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Martin defends well.

Martin is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Raposo shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Raposo stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Martin swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Raposo decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Martin, up you get!
A nice inside leg kick there by Raposo. That's going to slow Martin down.

Martin seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Martin lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Raposo wants to improve his position but Martin is controlling well.

Martin has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Raposo darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Martin is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Raposo wants to get back to his feet.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Raposo tries to kick Martin off in order to stand up. Martin Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
Raposo is looking for a sweep.
Raposo can't do much from the bottom here.
Martin throws a strike aimed at the side of Raposo's head but Raposo avoids it well.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Raposo closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Martin to the mat! Martin manages to get full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Raposo throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Martin.
Martin has his takedown stuffed

and Raposo counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
A looping hook to the body misses from Martin. Raposo does a little dance to reset his feet.
Raposo changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Martin tries to avoid it but Raposo manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Martin to the ground. Martin escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Martin manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Raposo manages to get himself to full guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Martin is pushing down on Raposo's leg trying to pass to half guard. Raposo is fighting to maintain full guard but Martin has managed to sneak the leg through.

Martin is looking for a kimura but Raposo is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Martin to get the leverage.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Martin looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Pete Martin.
I think Martin has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
