1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Frank Mir! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Wesley Smith and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Blackmore has a takedown stuffed. Blackmore tries to close the distance and clinch up but Mir swats him away and circles back towards the center. Blackmore tries to score a power double leg takedown but Mir sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Blackmore somewhat. Blackmore fails miserably with a takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Richard Blackmore. That's going to take a lot out of him. Mir stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Mir wants it to stay on the feet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mir scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Blackmore is defending against the submission attempts here by Mir.

We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Mir has eaten all the pies!
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Blackmore with a poor takedown and Mir counters with a nice double leg into side control. Blackmore won't be happy with that. Mir is looking to take a break and control but Blackmore is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mir laying and praying for a moment but Blackmore takes advantage and regains half guard. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Mir is working for a kimura from half guard. He's really concentrating on the hold and it's allowed Blackmore to slip a leg under and get back to full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Mir wants to control from the top but Blackmore keeps moving. Blackmore wants to stand up but Mir is controlling him. Mir is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Mir trying to control the position from guard on top but Blackmore is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Blackmore clinches but Mir breaks the clinch so Mir counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Blackmore keeping moving, preventing Mir from controlling successfully. Despite being in the dominant position, Frank Mir just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Blackmore tries to clinch but Mir moves away and Mir counters with a single leg into guard. Blackmore didn't expect that.

Mir stops Blackmore from standing up. Blackmore trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Mir looking to sit in guard and control but Blackmore gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Blackmore tries to stand but Mir is controlling from the bottom.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Blackmore gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Mir counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Blackmore! Mir controlling from the full mount. Blackmore is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position. Mir trying to control but he's not successful this time. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Frank Mir showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Blackmore is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Mir asserts his dominance and retains side control. Mir is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Blackmore's shoulder. That is not cool. Mir taking a break here but Blackmore is having none of it and regains half guard. Mir stops Blackmore from getting back to his feet.
Mir takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

And that's the end of the fight! Frank Mir comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Mir has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today.
