Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mauricio Rua!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Lincoln Hawk!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Steve Erwin and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hawk stuffs the takedown attempt from Rua. Rua gets slowly back to his feet.
Hawk shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Rua defends it nicely.
Rua slips under a jab from Hawk.
Hawk loads up on a big right hand but Rua slips the punch.
Rua shoots and misses
and Hawk moves into the clinch.
Hawk gets underhooks to prevent Rua's takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mauricio Rua. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Rua drops down looking for an ankle pick but Hawk pulls his leg out and moves away.
Hawk drops Rua with a left and a right! Oh, Rua is hurt - Hawk dives into side control looking to finish!
It looks like Mauricio Rua has been cut.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Rua is trying to control Hawk's posture but Hawk avoids it.
Hawk misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
What's Rua going to do here then? He's in a bit of a pickle.
Rua taking punishment in the form of punches.
Hawk is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Rua's shoulder. That is not cool.
Hawk lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Rua taking a bit of punishment here - Hawk scoring with strikes.
Hawk working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
Hawk tries to move into full mount but can't pass Rua's legs.
Rua is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Hawk advances to mount.
Rua tries to reverse the position but Hawk maintains control.
Hawk in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Mauricio Rua's cut is getting worse.
Hawk can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Rua is looking to escape.
Hawk looking for a guillotine from mount but Rua is having none of it.
Rua is looking to improve his position but Hawk isn't that keen on the idea.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hawk lands with some strikes.
Jeez, Mauricio Rua's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
