Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rex Bearden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ray Philips (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Philips is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Dance Hall Days. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rex Bearden! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ray Philips! The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Jorge Garcia and John Kavanagh.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bearden throws a sloppy head kick and Philips moves out of range easily. Philips throws an overhand right that lands on Bearden's shoulder, as Bearden tries to avoid the shot. Philips's corner calls for a 1-2. Philips obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Philips lands with a nice body punch. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Bearden tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Bearden slips a jab from Philips. Bearden defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Philips. No luck with that takedown attempt from Bearden. Bearden shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Philips is doing well to control the position and prevent Bearden from advancing to side control. Bearden is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Philips doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Bearden.
That's one minute gone in the round. Philips is trying to get back to full guard. Philips really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bearden. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Philips is concentrating on defense, preventing Bearden from advancing position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Philips's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Philips is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Bearden wants to stand up but Philips is controlling the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Philips is positioning himself well to prevent Bearden advancing to mount. Bearden thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Philips's head. Bearden not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Bearden content to control rather than advance. Philips trying to control here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bearden missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Philips tries to roll over but Bearden keeps him under control. Philips holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now. Bearden is stalling here. Philips is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Bearden seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Philips has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Bearden is trying to get back to half guard. Bearden can't do much from the bottom here. Bearden throws a couple of strikes even though he's not really in a good position to do so.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Philips fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Bearden checks it well. Bearden keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Bearden takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Philips throws a big shot that misses. Philips connects with a jab. Philips lands a jab. Philips drops Bearden with a beautiful combination! Bearden stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Philips is looking for the KO!
Bearden is rocked!
It looks like Rex Bearden has been cut. BOOM! Philips lands a beautiful left hook that drops Bearden. Bearden tries to recover but Philips is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Bearden lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ray Philips!
