The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice sprawl there from Johnson as Diaz shoots in.
Diaz looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Johnson is fending him off so far but Diaz persists. Nope, Johnson circles away and we're back to standing.
Diaz shoots in and bounces Johnson off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Diaz is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Johnson is keeping busy.
Johnson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

and Johnson counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Johnson lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Diaz backwards.

Diaz wants to improve his position but Johnson is controlling well.

and Johnson counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Johnson.
Johnson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Diaz is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Johnson's half guard.
Diaz not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Johnson gets back to full guard.
Johnson pushes Diaz off and scrambles back to his feet.
Johnson gets caught flat footed, as Diaz shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Diaz passes into half guard.
Johnson is pressing down on Diaz's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Rick Johnson dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Johnson lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Diaz has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Diaz and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Diaz has his takedown stuffed
and Johnson counters with a head kick. That will keep Diaz thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Diaz is trying to break the clinch but Johnson is controlling him.
Diaz drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Johnson gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Diaz in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Johnson tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Diaz!
