Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Yue Fung!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jin Kazama!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Shirou Masuda and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kazama blocks a head kick by Fung.
Fung throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kazama's waist but Kazama gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Fung off to one side.
Kazama circles away from the clinch attempt.
Fung wants to clinch.
Fung fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Fung shoots in but no luck this time.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Yue Fung. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fung throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Kazama.
Fung misses with a head kick.

Kazama is working for takedown but Fung is calmly controlling the position for now.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.

Fung manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Fung has his foot on Kazama's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Kazama works his way back into a safe position though.
Kazama wants to pass the guard but Fung is keeping the position.

Kazama is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Fung will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Kazama stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Fung swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Fung doesn't manage to clinch there - Kazama circles away.
Kazama shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Kazama was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Fung is squirming around, avoiding Kazama's attempts to control the action.
Kazama tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Kazama working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Fung keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Kazama is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Fung has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Fung tries to reverse the position but Kazama maintains control.
Fung is working hard here to advance position.
Fung tries to hold on but Kazama pushes him away.

Fung is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
Kazama is looking for the choke from the back position but Fung is controlling his hands well.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Kazama is working for a rear naked choke. Fung is not defending it well and Kazama has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Fung refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Fung's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Jin Kazama!
