PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cripz Eire (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Doe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Cripz Eire!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, John Doe!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Andrew Berry and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Eire misses with a two punch combination.
Doe ducks under a wild hook from Eire.
Eire fails with an attempt to clinch.
Doe takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Eire keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Eire scores with a three punch combo!

Doe closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Doe decides to stand back up. Doe steps back and let's Eire get back to his feet.
Eire throws a head kick but Doe moves out of range.
Eire displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Doe throws out the jab.
Doe ducks under a wild hook from Eire.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Doe.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Doe decides to stand back up.
Eire tries to clinch up.
Eire shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Doe counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Doe.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Doe trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Doe is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Eire is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Eire has escaped and now he's on top!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Doe has his foot on Eire's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Eire works his way back into a safe position though.
Doe looks gassed!

Doe is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Eire defends well.

Eire gets to his feet - Doe follows without any prompting.
Eire moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.

Eire forces Doe back against the cage and clinches.

Eire escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Eire moves into the clinch.
Eire is trying to break free.
Eire tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Eire is trying to force a seperation but Doe has the dominant position.
Eire has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Doe works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Eire trying to control the position.

Doe got a little sloppy there for a moment and Eire has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Doe has managed to get both his arms back between Eire's legs - danger averted.

Doe is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Eire is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Eire has escaped and now he's on top!

Eire is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Doe had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Eire defends it easily.
Eire passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Doe is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Eire is controlling him well.

Eire decides to stand up, so the ref orders Doe to his feet.
Doe tries to clinch but Eire moves out of range.
Doe misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Eire changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Doe tries to avoid it but Eire manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Doe to the ground. Doe escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cripz Eire. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Eire tries to clinch but Doe is having none of it.
A low kick from Eire misses

and Doe counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Doe works his foot free and advances to mount.

Doe goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Eire turns into him and now he's in Doe's guard.

Doe is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Doe is looking for a triangle but Eire pushes his legs off easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but John Doe will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Eire misses with a takedown

so Doe counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Eire has his foot on Doe's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Doe works his way back into a safe position though.

Doe drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Eire manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Doe has Eire in his guard.
Eire keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Doe's head.

Doe is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Doe wants to sweep but no luck.

Doe is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Eire defends well.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Doe takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Doe shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Doe drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Eire dives on top into guard.

Doe escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Eire gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Eire can't do much from the bottom here.
Doe advances to full mount.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Doe goes for an armbar but Eire turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Eire.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Doe showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Eire's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. And we move into the final round!


Eire lands a nice hook to Doe's body. Doe takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

so Doe counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Doe has gone for a leg lock! Eire slips out almost immediately though and dives into Doe's guard.
Eire trying to stand up but can't free himself from Doe's guard.

Eire avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Doe tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Doe kicks Eire off and gets to his feet.

Doe feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Doe stands up and waves to Eire to follow him.

Eire swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Eire is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Doe throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Eire's waist but Eire gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Doe off to one side.

Doe has an Americana. Eire didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Doe is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Doe hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
