Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Helen Keller!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Reece Thompson!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Eliza Hachem and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thompson wants to clinch up but Keller keeps it at a distance.
Keller looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!

Thompson decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Thompson performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Let's hope that Thompson has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

I looks like Thompson might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Despite being in the dominant position, Reece Thompson just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Keller gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Thompson is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Thompson throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Keller works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Thompson postures up in Keller's guard and throws a big left but Keller blocks it.

Thompson stands and steps away. Keller gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Thompson feints and as Keller raises his hands in defense, Thompson changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Thompson is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Thompson gets to his feet - Keller follows without any prompting.
Helen Keller seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Thompson fails to land with a series of punches.

Thompson throws a big right hand that misses.
Thompson stays in close to Keller's body and controls the position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Keller looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Thompson puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Well, if Thompson is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Thompson. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Thompson is pushing down on Keller's leg trying to pass to half guard. Keller is fighting to maintain full guard but Thompson has managed to sneak the leg through.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Despite being in the dominant position, Reece Thompson just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Thompson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Keller wants to sweep here but Thompson controlling him for the moment.

Reece Thompson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Thompson closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Thompson lands in his opponent's guard.
Keller can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Thompson controls the pace.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Thompson sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Keller's guard.
Thompson drops an elbow to the side of Keller's head.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Thompson connects with a nice short shot to Keller's temple.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Thompson shoots in and bounces Keller off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Thompson slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Reece Thompson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Thompson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
