The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Schmidt misses with a takedown attempt - Rotten sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Rotten is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Rotten moves in looking to clinch but Schmidt pushes him off.
Rotten tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Schmidt paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Schmidt looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Rotten is fending him off so far but Schmidt persists. Nope, Rotten circles away and we're back to standing.
