The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Souza is trying hard to land a takedown here. Hatton sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Hatton shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Hatton was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Hatton postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Souza looks a forlorn figure.
It looks like Ronaldo Souza has been cut.
Souza is desperately trying to improve his position but Hatton has a good base and remains in mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hatton lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Souza hang on?
Hatton is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Souza has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Souza!
Hatton is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Souza frees his head nicely. Oh but Hatton has switched to an armbar! Souza is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
