Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Maike Mitch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Louis Simmons (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mitch kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is C'mon !. Simmons has chosen Im Gonna Run This Town! as his entrance music. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Louis Simmons!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, James Glass and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Simmons blocks a head kick by Mitch.

Simmons shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Mitch is trying to defend but Simmons finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Mitch uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Simmons has time to react.
Mitch throws a hook but Simmons avoids it easily.
Mitch throws a leg kick which misses Simmons's front leg but catches the back leg as Simmons tries to avoid it.

and Simmons decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Mitch's guard.

Mitch can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Simmons controls the pace.

Simmons's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Mitch will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Simmons stands up and waves to Mitch to follow him.

Simmons feints and as Mitch raises his hands in defense, Simmons changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Simmons is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Simmons pushes Mitch off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Mitch looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Simmons decides to stand up, so the ref orders Mitch to his feet.

Mitch throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mitch throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Mitch takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Simmons lands a nice shot that snaps Mitch's head back.

Mitch defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Simmons.

Simmons throws a good cross that connects.
Mitch takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Simmons shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Mitch pinned against the cage. Mitch gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Simmons will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Simmons might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Simmons has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Simmons tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mitch tries to reverse the position but Simmons maintains control.
Mitch flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.

Mitch is bucking up trying to escape but Simmons cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Simmons takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Let's hope that Simmons has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Simmons pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Simmons shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Mitch as he jumps to the side.
Mitch misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Simmons throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Mitch.
Simmons closes the distance and clinches up with Mitch, looking for a takedown. Simmons pushes Mitch against the cage but Mitch circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Simmons tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Mitch swivels and escapes.

Mitch slaps away a takedown attempt from Simmons, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Mitch tries to land a front kick but Simmons steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Nice shot lands for Simmons.
Mitch lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Simmons circles away quickly and effectively.

I would just about give that final round to Louis Simmons.
I think Simmons has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
