Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tele Santana (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dennis Hallman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Tele Santana!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dennis Hallman!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Illya Tyunina and Sergei Dronov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Santana fails to land the takedown.
Hallman slaps away a takedown attempt from Santana, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Hallman drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Santana is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Hallman slips nicely into half guard.
Hallman wants to control but Santana is keeping him busy.
Santana is trying to control but can't.
Santana avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Hallman.
Santana tries to get to full guard but Hallman has control of the leg.
Hallman wants to lay and pray for a moment but Santana keeps working.

Hallman wants to pass to mount but Santana is defending the position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Santana gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Hallman counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Santana's guard now.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tele Santana. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Santana throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Hallman escapes and throws Santana's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Santana tries to bench press Hallman off him but Hallman keeps the position.
Santana is breathing heavily.

Hallman scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Santana to see if he's OK.

Hallman looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Santana is trying to control Hallman's posture but Hallman avoids it.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Hallman trying to control the action but Santana is working from the bottom.
Santana is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Hallman has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Santana regains half guard there - taking advantage of Hallman's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Well, if Hallman is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Santana shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Hallman counters with a single leg into guard. Santana didn't expect that.
Santana looking to control but Hallman passes into half guard.
Santana is pressing down on Hallman's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Santana utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dennis Hallman dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Hallman closes the distance and clinches up with Santana, looking for a takedown. Hallman pushes Santana against the cage but Santana circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Santana doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Hallman counters with a takedown into side control.
Santana can't do much from the bottom here.
Santana tries to buck Hallman off but Hallman is having none of it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hallman has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Hallman landing strikes, looking to finish!
Dennis Hallman has got the better of the ground game so far.

Santana is trying to reverse the position but instead Hallman has taken his back - oops!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Santana is covering up but some of the strikes from Hallman are getting through and doing damage.
Santana has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke.
Hallman tries to keep control of the position but Santana is staying busy.
Hallman lands punches and elbows.
Santana trying to control the action but Hallman just sinks the hooks in.
Hallman lands shots from the back.
Hallman is landing with strikes from the back.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Hallman is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Santana knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Santana for a finish.
I really don't envy Santana right now.
Santana is taking damage to the body and head.
Hallman trying desperately to keep hold of the dominant position.
Santana rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.

Hallman is trying to control. Santana wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Santana makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Santana.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Santana wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Hallman manages to pass to side control.

Dennis Hallman showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Hallman is working Santana over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Santana had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Hallman defends it easily.

Hallman wants to control from the top but Santana keeps moving.

Hallman decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Santana, up you get!

Santana gets caught flat footed, as Hallman shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Hallman's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Hallman sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Santana's guard.
Santana is trying to stand up here but Hallman is controlling him well.

Hallman seems to be looking for submissions.
Hallman has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Hallman is keen to just control but Santana is a slippery customer.
Hallman keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Dennis Hallman is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Santana wants to control but Hallman postures up.

Dennis Hallman comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Hallman winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
