Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ryan Bogan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Uuno Turpa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Uuno Turpa has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Ryan Bogan's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ryan Bogan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Uuno Turpa!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Johanna Lukiainen and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Turpa doesn't manage to clinch there - Bogan circles away.

Bogan shoots in but no luck this time.
Turpa gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Bogan counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Bogan.
Turpa has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Bogan manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Turpa wants to break the clinch but can't.

Bogan drags the fight down to the ground.
Turpa wants to stand but Bogan is controlling his posture from full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Turpa is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Bogan bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Turpa's guard.
Turpa wants to stand up but Bogan is controlling him.
Bogan might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Bogan looking to sit in guard and control but Turpa gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Bogan looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Turpa wants to stand and escape but instead Bogan has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Bogan slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Bogan seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Turpa for as long as he can get away with.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Bogan changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Turpa tries to avoid it but Bogan manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Turpa to the ground. Turpa escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

so Bogan counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Bogan wants to free his trapped foot but Turpa is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Turpa tries to roll over but Bogan keeps him under control.

Bogan is pressing down on Turpa's thigh, looking to free his foot. Turpa is holding on for now.
Bogan is keen to just control but Turpa is a slippery customer.
Bogan looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Bogan stalling away here and it's allowed Turpa to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Turpa wants to stand up but Bogan is controlling him.
Turpa is breathing heavily.

Bogan is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Turpa is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Ryan Bogan just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.

Bogan drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Bogan looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Turpa wants to stand but Bogan is controlling the position.
Bogan's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Bogan passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Bogan is looking to take a break and control but Turpa is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Bogan stands up and beckons Turpa to his feet.
Turpa thumps Bogan with a low kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!



Bogan looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Bogan is trying to control the action in half guard but Turpa is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bogan tries to pass the half guard into mount. Turpa knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Bogan perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Turpa takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Bogan tries to control but Turpa wriggling away.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Bogan tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Ryan Bogan just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Turpa stuffs the takedown attempt from Bogan. Bogan gets slowly back to his feet.
Bogan shoots in looking for a takedown. Turpa tries to sprawl out of it but Bogan keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Turpa manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

and Bogan counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Bogan jumps guard and drags Turpa to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Bogan wants to sweep here but Turpa controlling him for the moment.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Bogan's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

and Bogan counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Turpa's guard now.
Uuno Turpa has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Bogan wants to control from the top but Turpa keeps moving.

And that's the end of the fight!
Ryan Bogan showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Bogan, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
