3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Guilherme Cunha! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bruno Carlos Uno! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, George Francis and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Carlos Uno tries to clinch up. Carlos Uno gets caught flat footed, as Cunha shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Carlos Uno not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Cunha seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Cunha seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Carlos Uno for as long as he can get away with. Cunha's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Cunha distracts Carlos Uno with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Carlos Uno being controlled here, momentarily.
That's one minute gone in the round.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Guilherme Cunha just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Carlos Uno is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Carlos Uno fails in his attempt to clinch. Cunha shoots in for a double leg but Carlos Uno sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. The fight stays on the outside here - Carlos Uno looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Cunha misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Nice takedown defense from Carlos Uno. No joy for Cunha on that attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Guilherme Cunha. That's going to take a lot out of him. Cunha shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Carlos Uno sprawls well. Carlos Uno wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Cunha gets slowly back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Cunha tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Carlos Uno swivels and escapes. Cunha keeps the fight on the outside. Carlos Uno tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Cunha paws at him with a jab and circles away. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Cunha. Carlos Uno wants to clinch. Carlos Uno doesn't manage to clinch there - Cunha circles away.
Cunha shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Cunha moves to the back position. Cunha avoiding Carlos Uno 's attempts to control his hands. Carlos Uno is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Carlos Uno won't enjoy being in this position. Cunha looking for the choke. Oh... he's slipped the arm under the neck - Carlos Uno is tapping - it's over boys! Cunha picks up the submission victory!
