Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rich Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Barhydt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rich Silva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, John Barhydt!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Joseph Jones and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barhydt avoids the head kick by Silva.
Barhydt walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Horrible takedown by Barhydt or perhaps it was just good defense by Silva which made him look bad.
Barhydt looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Silva shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Silva trying to control the action but Barhydt is working from the bottom.
Silva sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Barhydt defending well though.
The fighters are battling for position here. Barhydt manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Silva postures up.

Silva drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Silva jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Silva wants to control from the top but Barhydt keeps moving.
Silva stands and throws Barhydt's legs to the side, diving into side control.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Barhydt is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Silva's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Silva controlling the pace.
Silva scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Barhydt regains full guard. Nicely done.
Silva postures up and lands a big shot to Barhydt's brow.
Barhydt trying to keep a closed guard but Silva is proving a slippery customer.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Silva controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Silva lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Silva postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Barhydt is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Barhydt has momentary wrist control but Silva slips an elbow through the middle.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Silva trying to control but Barhydt is working from the bottom.
Silva content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Barhydt looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Silva puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Silva lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Silva lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Silva wants to take a breather but Barhydt is having none of it.
Silva is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Silva is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Barhydt is just riding it out for now. Silva eventually gives up the hold.
Silva is trying to control the action in half guard but Barhydt is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Barhydt moves into full guard.
Silva stops Barhydt from standing up.
Silva lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Barhydt is looking to stand up but Silva isn't so interested in that idea.
Silva lands a couple of digs.
Silva preventing the sweep.
Silva works over Barhydt with some ground and pound from guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Barhydt keeping full guard, as Silva tries to pass.
Silva slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Barhydt wants to get back to his feet but Silva is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Silva cracks Barhydt with a solid left hand.
Silva stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Barhydt swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Silva works over Barhydt with some ground and pound from guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Silva missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Silva advances to half guard.
Barhydt wants to get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rich Silva dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!



Silva shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Barhydt has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Silva is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Barhydt.
Barhydt is not content to let Silva control the position.
Silva lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Silva lands a big left to the face of Barhydt, bouncing his head like a basketball. Another shot from Silva and another - Barhydt is out! Silva stands up and salutes his fans, who are going crazy in the stands.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:54 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Rich Silva!
