Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Eshad Ravens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Larry Ross (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Eshad Ravens! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Larry Ross! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Cecil Peabody and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No luck for Ravens with that takedown attempt. A combination from Ravens does no damage. Ravens tries to clinch but Ross moves out of range. Ravens shoots for a double leg takedown but Ross sprawls well. He's pushed Ravens's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Ravens misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Ross swats away the attempt to clinch by Ravens. Ravens scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Ross throws a combination. Ravens tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
It looks like Eshad Ravens has been cut. Ravens drives through with a takedown into guard. Ravens stopping the sweep attempt from Ross. Ross looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

That's one minute gone in the round. Ross throws his legs up looking for a submission but Ravens uses it to pass to side control.
Ravens gets to mount! Ross was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly. Ross is in all sorts of trouble here.
Ravens lands a big elbow. Ross is looking to get to half guard. Ravens jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Ross manages to avoid the submission attempt. Ross tries to get back to half guard but can't. Ross manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ross regains full guard. Nicely done. Ravens trying to control but Ross is working from the bottom. Ravens is breathing heavily. Ross is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ravens won't allow Ross to sweep him here. Ravens trying to control the position from guard on top but Ross is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Ross will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Ravens wanted to stand there but Ross had control of the position. Ross is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Ravens has his hands clasped together but Ross extends an breaks Ravens's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Ross.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Larry Ross!
