Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 1 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Lewis Fairhurst!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Greg Flang!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, James Glass and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Flang decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Flang tries to pass to full mount but Fairhurst defends it.

Flang is working for a kimura here but Fairhurst manages to reverse the position and he's now in Flang's guard.
Flang manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Fairhurst manages to get himself to full guard.
Fairhurst controlling the position.
Flang slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Flang has gone for a leg lock! Fairhurst slips out almost immediately though and dives into Flang's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Flang is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Fairhurst stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Flang swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Fairhurst postures up in Flang's guard and throws a big left but Flang blocks it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Fairhurst trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Flang working for submissions but it's allowed Fairhurst to get to half guard.
Fairhurst knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Flang on the ground.
Flang is looking to improve his position.
Flang is controlling Fairhurst's trapped leg to prevent Fairhurst from advancing to side control.

Fairhurst throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Flang slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Flang has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Flang is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Fairhurst has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Fairhurst trying to control but Flang is working from the bottom.

Flang lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Fairhurst!
Flang looking to control and managing it successfully.

Flang is dominating on the ground here - he's now on his opponent's back, looking to sink in the hooks. Fairhurst is in real trouble.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Flang has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Fairhurst's body.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Despite being in the dominant position, Greg Flang just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Flang shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Flang wants to pass the guard but Fairhurst is keeping the position.
Fairhurst being controlled here, momentarily.
Flang sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Fairhurst's guard.

Flang passes to full mount!
Fairhurst is breathing heavily.
Flang controlling the pace for now.

Flang goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Fairhurst turns into him and now he's in Flang's guard.

That's eight minutes gone in the round.

Flang working for submissions but it's allowed Fairhurst to get to half guard.
Flang is pressing down on Fairhurst's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Flang pulls Fairhurst in close to prevent any damage.

That's nine minutes gone in the round.
Fairhurst preventing the sweep.
Flang keeping moving, preventing Fairhurst from controlling successfully.
Flang manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Fairhurst manages to get himself to full guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Flang slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

And that's the end of the fight!
Greg Flang comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Flang has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
