Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Paul Hardy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Malcolm Hopkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hardy's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Rock the Casbah. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hardy lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Hopkins walks into a jab.
Hardy gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Hardy tries to pull guard but Hopkins won't allow it.
Hopkins is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Hardy pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Hopkins has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Hardy is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Hopkins goes for a takedown in the clinch but Hardy prevents it.

Hopkins moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Hardy has worked his arm free - good work by Hardy!

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Hardy comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Hardy dips to his left and cracks Hopkins with an uppercut!
Hardy throws a left that rocks Hopkins and follows with a right that sends him tumbling to the canvas! Hardy dives into side control, looking to finish! Can Hopkins regain composure!

It looks like Malcolm Hopkins has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Hopkins is trying to control Hardy's posture but Hardy avoids it.
Hopkins is still in real trouble! Can Hardy finish him?

Hardy stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Hopkins seems to have recovered his senses.
Hardy throws a sloppy head kick and Hopkins moves out of range easily.
Hopkins ducks right into an uppercut from Hardy.
Hardy with a nice cross.
Hardy lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Hopkins circles away quickly and effectively.
Hopkins takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Hardy throws a head kick that misses.
Hopkins takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Hardy shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Hopkins counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Hopkins.

Hardy keeping moving, preventing Hopkins from controlling successfully.
Hopkins trying to move into half guard but instead Hardy has managed to sweep!
Hopkins working for a triangle but Hardy defends it easily.
Hardy stands up and waves to Hopkins to follow him.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Hardy jabs Hopkins right on the nose. Hopkins blinks but takes it well.
Hopkins blocks a head kick by Hardy.

No joy there for Hardy, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Hopkins takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Hardy throws a sloppy head kick and Hopkins moves out of range easily.
Hardy wants to clinch
and Hopkins counters with a single leg into guard. Hardy didn't expect that.
Hardy wants to stand and escape but Hopkins is having none of it.

Hardy has his foot on Hopkins's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Hopkins works his way back into a safe position though.
Hopkins passes Hardy's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Hardy knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hopkins on the ground.
Hardy is looking to escape.
Hopkins is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Hardy defends it well.
Hardy moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Hopkins wants to pass the guard but Hardy is keeping the position.
Hopkins is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Hardy is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Hardy has escaped and now he's on top!
Hopkins is working an open guard so Hardy takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Hardy moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.

Hardy cracks Hopkins with a good jab.
A jab from Hardy misses.
Hardy tries a head kick but it misses.
Hardy throws a combination that misses
and Hopkins counters by clinching up.
Hardy wants to get back to striking at distance but Hopkins won't allow it.

Hopkins has Hardy pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Hopkins pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Hardy tumbling to the mat - Hopkins dives into Hardy's guard.
