5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Charles Martel! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Hozumi Hasegawa! The judges for this bout are William Peck, Ian Loll and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hasegawa tries to clinch up but Martel circles away and keeps his distance. Martel swats away the attempt to clinch by Hasegawa. Hasegawa is looking to clinch. Martel fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Hasegawa waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Martel. Hasegawa has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Hasegawa there as he acknowledges the shot. Hasegawa moves into the clinch. Martel lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the ropes. Hasegawa lands a right hand that snaps the head of Martel backwards. Martel swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Hasegawa lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Martel's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Hasegawa scores with an uppercut up the middle. Martel pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Martel slips under a jab from Hasegawa. Martel lands a lovely overhand right. This has been an exciting period of action! Hasegawa throws a hook to the side of Martel's head but Martel sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
That's one minute gone in the round. Martel throws a jab but it's blocked by Hasegawa. Martel scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Hasegawa throws an overhand right that lands on Martel's shoulder, as Martel tries to avoid the shot. Nice defenses there by Hasegawa. Martel throws a right and a left that Hasegawa avoids nicely. Martel throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Martel is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Martel bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Martel thows a body shot but no joy. Martel drops Hasegawa with a beautiful combination! Hasegawa stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Martel is looking for the KO!
Hasegawa is rocked! Martel lands with a big right hook that stumbles Hasegawa - he's out on his feet here! Martel follows up with another monster hook that separates Hasegawa from consciousness! Hasegawa falls, almost in slow motion to the canvas! Martel stands and admires his work as the crowd go wild.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Charles Martel! Charles Martel retains his bantamweight title!
