Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Julio Artigas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matias Miranda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Artigas comes to the cage accompanied by Candombe. Matias Miranda will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Miranda misses with an attempted mid kick.
Matias Miranda seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Miranda throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Miranda stuffs the takedown attempt from Artigas. Artigas gets slowly back to his feet.
Miranda doesn't manage to clinch there - Artigas circles away.
Miranda throws a right hand that Artigas ducks under and follows up with a left that Artigas also avoids with ease.
Artigas keeps the fight on the outside.

Artigas shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Artigas is looking for a kimura but Miranda is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Artigas to get the leverage.
Artigas passes the guard and advances to mount!

Artigas jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Miranda is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Miranda and Artigas has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Artigas goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Miranda rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Artigas's guard! Nice work there by Miranda!
Miranda has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Artigas is proving hard to escape from.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Artigas escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Miranda gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Artigas is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Miranda tries to stand but Artigas is controlling from the bottom.

Artigas pulls Miranda in close to prevent any damage.

Miranda would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Artigas manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Artigas takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Miranda is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
