Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Amos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ambrosio Gastelu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ambrosio Gastelu has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with John Amos's chin.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ambrosio Gastelu!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Donatello Bradman and Bruno Hogan.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Amos moves in looking to clinch but Gastelu pushes him off.

Amos has managed to clinch.
Amos looking for a takedown.
Gastelu lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
Amos has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Gastelu avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Gastelu wants a takedown.

Amos jumps guard.
Gastelu slips nicely into half guard.
Gastelu wants to pass to mount but Amos is defending the position.
Amos tries to get to full guard but Gastelu has control of the leg.

Gastelu is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Amos doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Gastelu.

Amos tries to kick Gastelu off but Gastelu keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Amos is trying to get back to full guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Amos drives through with a takedown into guard.
Amos keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Gastelu's head.

Gastelu wants to sweep here but Amos controlling him for the moment.

Gastelu is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Amos drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Amos jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Amos has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Amos stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gastelu swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Gastelu wants to sweep here but Amos controlling him for the moment.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Gastelu looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Gastelu has his foot on Amos's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Amos works his way back into a safe position though.

Amos wants to get up but he can't break Gastelu's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Amos drops back, looking for a kneebar! Gastelu looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Gastelu looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Gastelu!

Amos tries to buck Gastelu off but Gastelu is having none of it.
Gastelu scores with a couple of short elbows.

Gastelu has an Americana. Amos didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Gastelu is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Gastelu hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
