Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cleon Base (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Axel Henning (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Axel Henning will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cleon Base!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Axel Henning!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Robert Twigg and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Henning leaves Base with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Base is looking to slow Henning down with leg kicks.
Henning fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Base sprawls well initially but Henning persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Henning is keen to just control but Base is a slippery customer.
Henning tries to pass the half guard into mount. Base knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Base might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Henning lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Henning wants to free his trapped foot but Base is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Henning is looking to stand up but he'll have to free his leg first. Instead, Base manages to get to full guard.
Base looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Henning wants to pass the guard but Base is keeping the position.
Henning drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Base manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Henning has Base in his guard.
Base is stalling in the full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Henning is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Henning looks gassed!
Base decides to pull guard.
Henning throwing strikes from guard but Base blocks nicely.

Henning stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Base swivels though and keeps the full guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Base wants to sweep but no luck.
Henning looking to sit in guard and control but Base gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Base postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

and Henning counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Base!

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Henning throws a wild body kick that Base sees coming a mile off.
Base misses with a takedown
and Henning counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Henning really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Base. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Henning is looking to stand up but he'll have to free his leg first. Instead, Base manages to get to full guard.
Base is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Henning might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Base kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Henning wants to pass the guard but Base is keeping the position.
Henning is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Base has his hands on Henning's head, controlling the position.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Base has his takedown stuffed
and Henning counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Base's guard now.
Base pulls Henning in close to prevent any damage.
Henning drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Base dives on top into guard.

Henning manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Axel Henning has got the better of the ground game so far.
Henning moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Base has worked his arm free - good work by Base!
Henning decides to stand back up.

Henning connects with a jab.
Henning is looking to clinch.
Base doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Henning counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Base!
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cleon Base. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Henning is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!
Henning wants to clinch up but Base keeps it at a distance.
Base tries to clinch there but Henning circles away.
Henning looks for the body kick but Base saw that one coming.
Base with a lazy takedown attempt
and Henning counters with a takedown into side control.

Axel Henning showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!
Nice takedown defense from Base. No joy for Henning on that attempt.

so Henning counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Henning wants to pass the guard but Base is defending well.
Base regains full guard. Nicely done.
Henning slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Henning wants to control but Base is keeping him busy.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Base wants to control but Henning postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Henning wants to lay and pray for a moment but Base keeps working.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Base doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Henning counters with a nice double leg into side control. Base won't be happy with that.

Henning trying to control the position but Base is working away.
You can see the frustration on Base's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Henning lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Henning remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Henning wants to lay and pray for a moment but Base keeps working.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Henning has knee on belly momentarily but Base bucks him off and regains half guard.
Base is staying active underneath Henning, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
