Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Rice! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Daniel Sensintaffar! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Gwen Towbar and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rice lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Sensintaffar circles away quickly and effectively. Rice misses with a two punch combination.
Sensintaffar misses with a jab, cross combination.
Sensintaffar sizes up Rice with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. A combination from Sensintaffar does no damage. Rice throws a head kick but Sensintaffar moves out of range.
Sensintaffar scores with a spinning back kick! Rice throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rice throws a combination that misses and Sensintaffar counters with a left and a right that stings Rice. Sensintaffar closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Sensintaffar keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Rice's efforts to push away. Sensintaffar misses with a knee strike.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rice is trying to break the clinch but Sensintaffar is controlling him. Rice lands a good knee to the midsection. Sensintaffar won't want to take too many of those. Sensintaffar wants to break free but Rice has control.
Rice's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Rice throws a head kick but Sensintaffar moves out of range.
Rice throws a left and a right that both miss
and Sensintaffar counters with a two punch combo. Rice swinging wildly here.
Sensintaffar throws a combination that misses and Rice counters with a flying knee. Nice. Sensintaffar throws a lazy head kick and Rice counters with a head kick. That will keep Sensintaffar thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! Sensintaffar moves out of range as Rice strikes. Sensintaffar misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Sensintaffar tries to close the distance and clinch up but Rice swats him away and circles back towards the center.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rice throws a lazy head kick and Sensintaffar counters with a big head kick but Rice shrugs it off. Sensintaffar falls off balance throwing a combination
and Rice counters with a left and a right that stings Sensintaffar. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Rice throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Rice misses with a head kick.
Rice lands a body shot.
Rice throws a lazy head kick and Sensintaffar counters by clinching up. Rice breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Rice throws a head kick that misses and Sensintaffar counters with a lovely straight right hand! Rice throws a left jab followed by a right to the body, Oh Sensintaffar colapses and takes a barrage of punches from Rice as he moves to mount! the ref stops the fight and Sensintaffar is left battered and dazed whilst Rice and his camp cheer!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:05 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). John Rice!
