Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kain Veldspar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sam Champion!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Gwen Towbar and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Veldspar fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Champion fails to land with a series of punches.
Champion stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Champion wants it to stay on the feet.
A looping hook to the body misses from Veldspar. Champion does a little dance to reset his feet.
Veldspar shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Champion sprawls well. Champion wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Veldspar gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kain Veldspar. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Champion misses with a two punch combination.
Veldspar shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Champion defends it nicely.
Veldspar uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Champion.
Veldspar is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Champion rushes Veldspar and presses him up against the cage.

Champion breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Champion misses with a two punch combination.
Champion fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Champion scores with a jab to the body.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Veldspar shoots in for a takedown but Champion shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Champion keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Veldspar is breathing heavily.
Veldspar dodges the punch combination from Champion.

Champion closes the distance and clinches.

Champion pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Veldspar takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Champion tries to bum rush Veldspar with a series of wild strikes but Veldspar uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Champion throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Sam Champion is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Champion lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Veldspar is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Champion gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Champion pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Champion swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Veldspar on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Veldspar dodges the punch combination from Champion.
Champion moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

Champion clinches with his opponent.

Champion breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Champion misses with the combination.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Veldspar. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Champion lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

A jab-cross combination lands for Champion and sends Veldspar crashing to the mat! Champion follows him down to the mat - Veldspar regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!


Veldspar is rocked!

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Champion decides to stand up.
Oh Veldspar is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
I'm just looking down at my notes here and I see that.... oh! Champion has cracked Veldspar with a big right, followed by a left! He's out on his feet! Champion lands another huge swinging hook and Veldspar tumbles to the canvas! The ref dives in to save Veldspar, before Champion can land any more shots!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:14 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Sam Champion!
