Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Lock Bresnar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tony Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bresnar closes this distance looking for a takedown but Johnson circles away.
A punch lands to the side of Bresnar 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Bresnar dives in and grabs Johnson's left leg, looking for a takedown. Johnson pushes down on Bresnar's head and hops out.
Bresnar moves out of range as Johnson strikes.
Bresnar will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Bresnar shoots for a takedown but Johnson saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Johnson connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Bresnar momentarily.

Bresnar tries to move into range but Johnson moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Bresnar. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Bresnar keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Bresnar shoots in looking for a takedown. Johnson tries to sprawl out of it but Bresnar keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Johnson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Johnson is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Bresnar rather than just go for the knockout.
Johnson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

This entire fight has taken place on the feet so far and you wonder whether Bresnar might be better served trying to take this one to the ground because he's losing the standup battle so far.

Bresnar dives in and grabs Johnson's left leg, looking for a takedown. Johnson pushes down on Bresnar's head and hops out.
Johnson looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Johnson scores with a one two! Bresnar had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

and Johnson makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Tony Johnson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! And we move into the final round!

Johnson goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Bresnar looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.

Bresnar feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Johnson wants to stand but Bresnar is controlling the position.

Bresnar drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Bresnar jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Bresnar wants to lay and pray for a moment but Johnson keeps working.
Johnson is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
