The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
pablo pushes Thompson up against the cage in a clinch.
pablo is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
pablo manages to pull guard.
Thompson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Thompson wants to pass the guard but pablo is keeping the position.
pablo trying to keep a closed guard but Thompson is proving a slippery customer.
Thompson throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as pablo works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Thompson.
Thompson shoots in looking for a takedown. pablo tries to sprawl out of it but Thompson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. pablo manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
