Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, David Schapiro and Lou da Vinci.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Standa takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Alves jabs Standa right on the nose. Standa blinks but takes it well.
Alves thuds a left hand into Standa's body.
Alves throws a series of punches but Standa moves out of range.
Alves forces Standa back against the cage and clinches.
Standa jumps guard but Alves stands there with Standa around his waist. Standa gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
A nice left hand lands by Alves.

Standa is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Alves is looking for a triangle but Standa pushes his legs off easily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Alves tries to close the distance and clinch but Standa swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Standa has had enough of the clinch but Alves keeps him there for the moment.
Alves ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Alves no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

You can see the frustration on Standa's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Rogerio Alves is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Alves just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
