Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cesar Areza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Hanner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hanner has chosen Slayed as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Cesar Areza! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joe Hanner! The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, John Kavanagh and Steve Montenegro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hanner ducks under a wild hook from Areza. Areza throws a right and a left that Hanner avoids nicely. Hanner gets a takedown into half guard. Areza blocking the ground and pound attempt from Hanner. Areza is looking to escape. Areza pushes Hanner off but Hanner dives into side control.
Areza tries to improve position but can't. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hanner content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. Areza is trying to buck Hanner off. Areza manages to get back to half guard. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Hanner connects with a nice short shot to Areza's temple. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Hanner is thwarting Areza's attempts to control the position. That's two minutes gone in the round. Areza tries to roll over but Hanner keeps him under control. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Hanner working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Hanner is nestled in close to Areza, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. The two fighters exchange a few words. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Areza is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Areza is breathing heavily. Hanner working the head and body with strikes. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Hanner lands a nice short elbow. Areza is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Hanner scores with a couple of nice shots.

He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Hanner is looking to take a break and control but Areza is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Hanner working the head and body with strikes. Areza actively working from the bottom here. Hanner is taking a breather. Areza says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Joe Hanner dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Areza gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Hanner counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Areza is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Hanner defends well. Areza is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Hanner controlling from the top position. Areza keeping moving, preventing Hanner from controlling successfully. Areza looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Hanner passes into side control.
Areza is looking to reverse the position. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hanner gets to mount! Areza was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly. Hanner landing strikes, looking to finish! Hanner sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. BOOM! Hanner connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Hanner lands a big shot there that rocks Areza but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Areza tries to lock up and control but Hanner gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Joe Hanner has got the better of the ground game so far. Hanner fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

That's two minutes gone in the round. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Hanner landing punches. Hanner lands a big elbow. Hanner lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Hanner controlling the pace for now. Hanner's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Hanner has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Areza tries to hold on but Hanner pushes him away. Areza is in a horrible position here. Hanner smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Despite being in the dominant position, Joe Hanner just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Areza throws a series of punches but Hanner moves out of range. Areza gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Hanner counters with a single leg into guard. Areza didn't expect that. Hanner keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Areza's head. Areza had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Hanner defends it easily. Hanner lands a couple of digs.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Hanner's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Hanner keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Areza's head. Hanner must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Hanner is working Areza over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Areza manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Hanner manages to get himself to full guard.
Hanner is controlling Areza's posture. Areza trying to stand up but can't free himself from Hanner's guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Areza trying to control the position from guard on top but Hanner is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Joe Hanner showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!
Hanner needs to keep his hands up - Areza had a free shot at his head there. Areza tries for a takedown but Hanner circles away easily and Hanner counters with a takedown into side control. Hanner lands a decent elbow from side control. Areza tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Hanner wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Areza gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Hanner trying to control the action but Areza is working from the bottom. Areza tries to roll over but Hanner keeps him under control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Well, if Hanner is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Areza taking some punishment here, with Hanner in his half guard. Hanner takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Hanner stalling. Areza wants to control but Hanner is keeping busy.

Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Hanner is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Areza has managed to free his arm - good work. Areza tries to roll over but Hanner keeps him under control. Hanner content to control rather than advance. Hanner looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Cesar Areza has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Hanner moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Areza.
And that's the end of the fight! Joe Hanner comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Hanner winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
